My Ladybug!

My ladybug would like to remind you that I am here to help you guys not to make your lives miserable. To hear this straight from my squeaky ladybug buddy please click on the following link [link] :giggle:

Alright in all seriousness concerning the current situations please note that flaming my page is absolutely unnecessary to get my attention. As I stated in the Status Post I put up in our Status Forum we are listening to all of you who have questions, comments, and concerns about the changes that took place with the image submission process and what will be happening in the future with how deviations will be displayed. I mentioned that a formal announcement would be posted to explain these changes so everyone can better understand what is going on and hopefully provide some assurance that what is happening is simply for the best. In the mean time we have rolled back to how the submission process was originally. We'll continue to work on this project so that it better serves the entire community. Again, our apologies to those we upset. :huggle:

I truly appreciate it you all made my week that seemed like a never ending case of the mondays end on a better note. :tighthug: On today's agenda I'll be mailing about 4 dozen out of the approximately 8 dozen cran orange cookies I made yesterday :faint: lots of cookies :o and one of my cousins is having a graduation party  and maybe I'll get some time in to help my mom *Tazzy- on her flowerbed brick project :eager: she has painted bricks white and is painting ladybugs on them  and they will lining the edge of the front yard flowerbed :excited: so far the ones we have worked on look SUPER cute! :aww: I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Well, okay... I'll do a little more research on this tomorrow... Simply because the Wiki info doesn't really match up either.
However, I still suggest the remedy for the indoor infestation...

There are so many species of ladybugs also known as ladybirds or lady beetles with different colors and patterns one of my favourites is the Ash Grey ladybug [link] and also the twice stabbed [link]

I recently found this ladybug on dA [link] and in the process of identifying it found this website which has images of several species of Australian ladybirds(ladybugs) and they have such a wide variety of patterns and colors it's really amazing. :D [link]

I find a variety of ladybugs that wander around the house the mostly stay in places that have moisture to drink like bathrooms and kitchens but they don't damage anything as they simply eat aphids. I'd much rather see ladybugs wandering my home than spiders, roaches, or centipedes. They are welcome to my home so long as they keep the aphids off our flower garden and normal garden if we have one. :)

Evanita, from what the other person was saying, I don't think this is a few wandering around the home. It sounds more like an infestation. Although they don't do any real harm, she probably doesn't appreciate them crawling across her in her sleep.

I really wasn't trying to debate anyone here in the attributes of having ladybugs in the garden. I have them in mine, matter of fact, but the red ladybugs don't come in my home, the orange ones sometimes do. When they do, they become a problem.

No, I don't want spiders, or roaches or centipedes in my home either. I wasn't suggesting that I did, the fogger seems to take care of them all. Matter of fact they knock down spider mites as well. :giggle:

I was merely trying to suggest a solution for her problem.

:giggle: I have seen some pretty massive swarms in photos it's pretty incredible. Another thing that might discourage them is to keep your home dry as they come in not only for the heat but also for the moisture. :)

Well, Fall is the general time here when the lady beetles start invading, and they have plenty of moisture outside here at that time of year. :giggle:
I've never seen the red ladybugs swarm here at all, but the orange ones are all over in fall. I don't think they come in for any reason except that they have to go somewhere warmer, and as the one article said, they are drawn to white. (my house is white :giggle:)

Not so much that they swarm naturally, but ladybugs are constantly bought ALL over N. America by the 10's of thousands and released to combat nuisance insects. This can be done by local farmers, small gardeners as well as by municipalities.

The 'look-alike' bug is the Asian Lady Beetle which ranges in color from pale orange to dark orange with or without spots. They can also be recognized by the foul odor they secret from their leg joints ;)

Yes, the link that I gave her says this same thing. I believe that she has an infestation of Asian Lady Beetles. Although Evanita found links on Wiki that say both will "swarm".
Thanks for your input.

native ladybugs also release a foul orange secretion as well ;) it's to keep them from being food by some other animal ^_^

Yep the article said that, but that is usually not as noticeable from what I was reading due to their not nesting and roosting in such large quantities ;) Actually a rather interesting article... for bugs >.> The Asian is attracted to light colored houses and once in the house they gather in large groups in any well lit area, usually window sills :O_o:
