Star Wars Celebration Europe
Back at the end of July, the largest Star Wars fan convention of the summer took place in Essen, Germany.
This year's Star Wars Celebration Europe brought in over 20,000 attendees from 40 different countries. The three day event featured stars, creatives from all 6 films, and exciting news about future releases, including the return of John Williams to score the upcoming Episode VII.
Ken Lashley, an incredible Toronto based Comic Artist, currently working with DC Comics and Hasbro, was on hand at the convention, creating and selling his art.
With a GoPro camera strapped to his head, Ken created this Yoda art using SketchBook Pro for iPad r

The Timeline of deviantART
In 2014, DeviantArt turned 14 years old. Fourteen years is a long time, some of you reading this may be younger than that. I've gathered some historical information with the help of moonbeam13 (https://www.deviantart.com/moonbeam13) and some members of the Community Relations team to help enlighten those of you who have joined in recent years and missed out on a chunk of DeviantArt's life.
I hope you enjoy taking a step back in time!
Please note: it is extremely difficult to track down some events in DeviantArt's history (in particular, the first few years) and that some dates are only approximate.

Feeling stressed? You need a Therapy Llama
Every few months, Marisco and N.H Flight of the Eagle – showered, dressed up and accompanied by Niki Kuklenski – are welcome guests as they take a tour of the nursing home, stopping at each bed to kiss the patients or have a hug. Marisco and N.H are trained therapists, and they are llamas.
“It’s a treat, watching the llamas walk down the hallway,” says Jack Houston, one of the residents. “It’s amazing that there’s another life out there.” For some, it’s the most cuddling they receive in their time at the center; for others, it’s
Sta.sh Writer's toolbar and sidebar have been incorporated into the Write a Journal Entry page to make for a more dynamic journal creation experience!
New! The Sta.sh sidebar now gives you direct access to community-created emoticons! The Emoticon tab of Sta.sh Writer's sidebar has been updated to display both official emoticons and recently popular emoticons created by community members. Both sections have been given "Show more" buttons, so that you can explore either section in addition to searching for a specific emote using the sidebar's search box.
Some of the most highly requested features for the Journal submission page have been pre

From Fiber To Finished Object... A Journey.
To begin our journey we have roving.
Roving is not the only way to get yarn, however. There are also batts, locks, top, hankies, and much more.
After you have your fiber, you need something to spin it. There are two choices. Wheels and spindles. Spindles are smaller, and much easier to make by hand.
And then, you have yarn!
And now! Toys, and other cool stuff!
Like many, I was bullied as a kid. I can't count how many times I ended up at home after school, winded from running, cheeks flushed in anger and humiliation. It wasn't fun and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I can't imagine how much worse it can be for the LGBT youth, facing so much more than the relatively innocuous taunts of "geek" and "nerd" that I dealt with.
I have children of my own, and I do everything I can to encourage them to be kind and generous, forgiving and understanding. My six-year-old, Jaidyn, has an amazing Grade 1 teacher who tells the kids that every time they say something nice to someone, they're "filling their bucket".
Carrying on with the Halloween Movie theme we've watched Little Shop of Horrors. We decided to go in a musical route after the catchy song from Hocus Pocus. LIttle Shop of Horrors has so many amazing musical moments it's insane. I've not watched this movie in years and remembered every single song. Such a great experience. I only wish I could have seen it on broadway!
