This is the same cat shown here [link] She is a stray that wanders around my aunt's property. She doesn't have a home and poor girl had an extremely nasty wound around mid June. The remainder of the wound is that patch with no fur under her ear with the whitish splotch. It seems to have healed alright but I still worry about her. She's extremely friendly, mellow, and loves attention. I wish I could find someone I know who would like to take her in and give her a good home.

came out totally awesome.

only suggestion i can think of is that maybe a little more sharpening would be good... maybe maybe.

If you look at the full res version it is tack sharp so sharp that adding even the slighest bit of unsharpen mask makes the fur look fake ;)

i was looking full view...
there's special tricks on working the unsharp mask filter to extremes.

here's a fairly good example of keeping it "real" - [link]

i should probably add a tutorial on all types of sharpenning tricks on the club
but i havn't had the patience to record any new tutorials lately.

Actually when I meant full res I meant 100%. In my opinion no offense to you, I think the Mother Earth's sharpening is overdone. I really doubt that lady looks like that; its too dark and the sharpness is bringing out her wrinkles too much. It is a great photo but when working with portraits of people I think you shouldn't overstate their condition. Also you might want to watch out on your whites. If you look at your eyes in the mirror they aren't actually pure white. Personally when I think of a Mother Earth I think of someone soft and caring which is what your original image displays. :)
Let me tell you more about the lens I was using. I am using a canon 135 f/2L. This lens is one of Canon's sharpest lenses. It is so sharp that my canon rebel 300D's sensor is too small to handle its full potential. Here are some reviews about the lens just click the link and go to the lens mentioned [link]
Here is a view at 100%[link]
Also here is what will happen if the sharpness is dead on with feathers. [link]

I do appreciate your feedback and I hope you understand. :)
