This is from one of my studio shoots for the Butterfly Project. Unfortunately the cropping of this photo did not lend itself capable of working well with the canvas bleed wrapping. I absolutely love the photo though and even though it's not usable for the project I still wanted to share. :)

This is a rather large stargazer one of my favorite flowers.

Equipment used:
Speedotron Black Line 2405cx LV
1 Speedotron Black Line 202VF (set up with a double umbrella to act like a round soft box)

Reaching by $ewm - For studio macro/closeup, this image is perfect - excellent composition, striking depth of focus, and amazing vibrancy without being over saturated. The background, being so simple and dark, actually lends to the contrast of the piece, which is subtle, strong, and just the right amount. Also, it's reassuring to see a dA staff member of such importance who has amazing talent and maintains her art passion while devoting such whopping amounts of time to the site. They aren't really spikes just little stubbles. They are fairly common among stargazers but most people don't notice them as you have to look at them close up to see them. :)
