This is from one of my studio shoots for the Butterfly Project. Unfortunately the cropping of this photo did not lend itself capable of working well with the canvas bleed wrapping. I absolutely love the photo though and even though it's not usable for the project I still wanted to share. :)

This is a rather large stargazer one of my favorite flowers.

Equipment used:
Speedotron Black Line 2405cx LV
1 Speedotron Black Line 202VF (set up with a double umbrella to act like a round soft box)

Daily DeviationReaching by $ewm - For studio macro/closeup, this image is perfect - excellent composition, striking depth of focus, and amazing vibrancy without being over saturated. The background, being so simple and dark, actually lends to the contrast of the piece, which is subtle, strong, and just the right amount. Also, it's reassuring to see a dA staff member of such importance who has amazing talent and maintains her art passion while devoting such whopping amounts of time to the site. Lovely, nice angle and shot on this photo. Great work!

"I am a great Champion. When I ran the ground shook, the sky opened up and mere mortals parted, parted the way to victory where I'll meet you in the winners circle and lay a blanket of flowers over your back."
All of your photos are beautiful! How are you creating the backgrounds?

Oh, this is gorgeous... very beautiful and delicate. And slightly erotic in a special kind of way .
Well done .

I have a black background made of fabric draped behind the flowers. :)

I love the colors. They really pop against the black background. I see you have it available in your shop as a print. You should make it into a post card and magnet as well. If you do, let me know, because I want to buy it. :bucktooth:

Lots of strange, abusive, lovely and popular stuff =)
Beautiful composition and, of course, wonderful color and detail.

Do you have to touch it up much? When I had a black background in one of my images, I got it on the computer and it was so dirty I must have spent an hour digitally touching it up.
