Status Forum ConcernsHi Everyone!
I wanted to thank everyone for the responses on $Thunderstatement’s Blog Pro Tip: Don’t Wait to Report a Problem. There was quite few concerns about the state of our Status forum and we are working to address this because it is most definitely a valid concern and we greatly appreciate those who brought this to our attention!
For quite some time we tried to reserve the Status Forum to the most urgent issues which resulted in parts of the site being completely unusable resulting in high counts of tickets and concerns, to make sure that everyone was made aware of the issue as quickly as possible. By doing this the Status Forum remained quite small due to these types of issues not coming up as frequently and when they do the deviousTechnology department is sometimes so fast the issue gets fixed before we get to press the “Add Article&

A Month of CEASo, I've been working for deviantART for a month now and I thought I'd share some of my thoughts about it with you.
This last month has all at the same time managed to be the following, challenging, enlightening, stressful, sleep deprived, amazing, exciting, infuriatingly anger inducing, but it's been the best month I have had in a long time, I've been working with an amazing group of people and I've rekindled friendships from years gone by.
I work for the most wonderful company you could imagine, in a team of people that get abused more than they get praised by the community. We do a difficult job, it's something I always knew would happen, I experienced it as an mn@, I've watched it as a community member for the last 8 years. Being a CEA team member is something I've wanted to do for years, not because I want to ban people or have a fancy symbol, but because it's a position that challenges and enriches a person at the same time, it's also so directly involved with protecting the user

The Assumptions of TheftOne of the biggest issues facing creative minds in the age of the internet is that of theftof art, of ideas, of design work, even of code.
When we creative types come upon an instance where our work or the work of friends has been repurposed/stolen/ripped, we naturally are upset. We rally our fellow artists to build an army of good against those who would steal that which we painstakingly created from scratch. We send emails, tweets, facebook posts, blog posts, journal posts, and even send snail mail in an attempt to discourage the thieves. We will insult them, threaten them with lawsuits, and make their lives so difficult that they will naturally have no choice but to take down the stolen work.
I have also had my work stolen in many ways. Logos I have created have appeared on websites where the thieves are attempting to actually re-sell the work, artwork I've made has appeared on other websites as both decoration and downloadable/purchasable products, and in one instance some of

deviantART on our Lucky 13As you get older, you may begin to see birthdays as a distinctive point in time. A time for reflection on past successes, past roadblocks, past lessons. I also see it as an opportunity to look forward, set goals, aim ridiculously high. I'm sure everyone's heard people joke about disliking getting older and lamenting another year passing, but not me. Not yet, at least. The wisdom and hard lessons I've had to learn over the years helps me map out my immediate future. I may stumble, sure, but I also have a lifetime of overcoming obstacles and analyzing achievements to guide my decisions. All I can do is keep learning and growing.
I feel much the same way about deviantART.
I don't need to tell you that a web property sticking around for 13 years is a rare thing, and it's not an accomplishment we take lightly. We owe our continued existence to all of you, and the passion and inspiration that emanate so naturally from the community, from the most successful professional to the mo
I Belong To You I hate rain. Not really, I love it. Just not when the most beautiful, perfect, wonderful, perfect, comfortable, waterproof, perfect coat in existence has been savagely butchered by my so-called friend’s Dalmatian. Every slap of rain on my naked arms is a stinging reminder of the irreparable hole in my wardrobe.
Some people might try to fill the void with lesser coats but I can’t bring myself to betray Valentino, even after her death. Instead my slippery arms grapple with each other in wet shock as I stumble to the op shop, clinging to one last thread of hope. I know in my deadened heart that I’ll never have another coat like her. Yet here I am, blundering through the elements in my vain search for the acceptance and warmth I found wrapped in Valentino’s woollen sleeves.
Thud. My body slams into the door, making the ‘open’ sign quiver and the bells tinkle in offense. I fight for entry, the door’s assault doubled by the stale funk of

^Nyx-Valentine arrived in our community and started whipping everyone into a frenzy with her relentless desire to bring the Artistic Nude and Fetish galleries to the fore. 9 years later, and it's safe to say that Nyx is not only a leader as a photographer in these galleries, but she has also established herself as a much saught after model. ^...
