Weeeee so this is my first pair of knitted toe up socks and my second knitted pair of socks ever :excited: I used a special formula so they fit my feet very well. These go up to a couple inches below my knees. Only regret is that I didn't start the pattern at the toes the same! but live and learn :D

I was going to pass up this deviation, until I read the description that you made these. Like, with your hands and sock making skill. I always assumed socks magically came into being and landed in target store shelves. That level of design, fit and length is beyond me. I am sock awed. 0_0

:giggle: these ones were fairly simply I do have a more complex pair I haven't worked on in quite a while.. they have cables on them super cute! As far as design usually sock yarn is self stripping so it contains all the colors and you just knit it up and see what happens :)

those may be the best fitted pair of hand knitted socks i have ever seen. which i will admit is because i usually ignore hand knitted sock deviations because they dont fit well.

They fit extremely well ^_^ I use a special pattern that takes the measurements of your feet/your gauge and then comes up with the perfect numbers necessary in the pattern. Ever since I used it I haven't had any fitting problems with socks :)

Ooh, I love how these turned out! Adorable. I still haven't been brave enough to try socks, but I'm working on my first shawl right now. :)

Love this pattern by the way.

Lovely! I love the colorway. The photograph is nice too as a piece on its own; I like the composition. I always admire sock knitters... I have such an aversion to feet I'm not sure I will ever jump that knitting hurdle!

Those are really spiffy! I keep meaning to try that pattern formula myself, but I've just never gotten around to it.

What yarn did you use?

It's a great formula I use it to help get an idea of how other sock patterns will work for my feet :D As for the yarn it's Jo-Ann Sensations Soles & More sock yarn. They have a lot of other reasonably priced sock yarn there as well ^_^

Ooh! I'll have to stop in there the next time I'm out; hopefully my local Jo-Ann's will have some nifty colours in stock.

Thanks very much!
