This was taken with my new 40D and just outside my back door. I've been dieing to take photos with my camera and I thought this would be a good opportunity. Was a bit tricky though as it was dark outside and if I had the back lights on the background would look nasty...so this was taken with no lights on, manual mode, manually focused, and with the on camera flash. I think next time I'll add on the 500D close up filter and get a little closer to this fuzzy spider ;) I hope I did not scare anyone ....tooo much. :evillaugh:

:o my time on my camera is wrong...should be 11 pm not am *fixes camera*

just a tid bit of extra info the spider's body is about half an inch

Hehe! They are suck scardy cats! If you go near them and try to touch them they shrink and become as small as possible =) Simply wonderful, Love them to bits!

Omg spiders are so ugly!! But this is really agreat shot!
I didn't know that some kind of spiders had these little "needle" on the legs!

Actually most spiders have this. They are very small little hairs and from normal viewing distance you can't even tell they have them. :)
