I find that I take my knitting with me almost everywhere - something small like a sock, that I can work on when in line, or waiting at the doctor's office, etc. What is it about yarn that's so attractive, I wonder?
For me, part of the joy of knitting is the process of creating. I think it must be so much more wonderful when you create the spun yarn, as well, before you knit it. I definitely have to get a handle on spindle spinning - no place for a wheel where I live right now - and give it a try.
Right now, I'm knitting with a yarn from SWTC called TOFUtsies. It's sock yarn made of superwash wool, soysilk, cotton and chitin - yes, chitin. As in, made from shrimp and crab shells. It's a natural antibacterial agent, so the yarn makers say.
That sock yarn sounds pretty nice!! I'm currently knitting with Silky Alpaca Lace by Classic Elite. It's really nice but boy is it thin
