there was a wooden barrier separating the two of us and then I took the shot from standing up so there wasn't a whole lot of distance between me and the owl.

Looks a little grump to me, i can see why you captured it. Truly amazing, though i dont see these types of owls around here, the ones i do see are great, owls in general are very cool in appearance. Love the close up capture
